Product desription

Ammonium sulfate, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula (NH4)2SO4 , with relative molecular mass in 132.14. It is a white crystalline or granular substance with no odor, decomposes above 280ºC. Solubility in water: 70.6g at 0ºC, 103.8g at 100ºC. Insoluble in ethanol, acetone and ammonia water. The pH of a 0.1mol/L aqueous solution is 5.5 and the aqueous solution is acidic. Relative density: 1.77. Refractive index 1.521. Ammonium sulfate is mainly used as fertilizer and is suitable for various soils and crops. It can also be used in textile, leather, medicine and other fields.

Advantages of Ammonium sulfate

(1)High purity
The production process for caprolactam-grade products is relatively   refined,resulting in ammonium sulphate by products with a purity typically exceeding 99%and extremely low impurity content.This  effectively avoids adverse effects of impurities on soil and crops.

As a nitrogen fertilizer,it contains a high level of nitrogen, helping crops to promote lush growth of leaves and branched, and improving fruit quality and yeild.

(3)Wide applicability
Suitable for general soil and various crops including fruits, tea,soybeans,sweet potatoes,peanuts and other economic crops. It can also be used as  base fertilizer,topdressing and seed fertilizer.

(4)Stable physical properties
It has relatively good hygroscopicity and is less prone to caking, making it easy to store and use.Compared to ammonium nitrate and ammonium bicarbonate,it exhibits superior physical proper- ties and chemical stability.

(5)High industrial value
In addition to agricultural use,it has a wide range of applications in the industrial sector,serving as a raw material for chemical products, such as potassium sulphate and ammonium per sulfate.
 
Usage of Ammonium sulfate
(1)Pesticide application: It is added as a pesticide adjuvant and is currently widely used in Australia and South Africa

(2)Industrial applications: It can undergo a double decomposition reaction with table salt to produce ammonium chloride, react with aluminum sulfate to form ammonium alum, and be used together with boric acid and others to manufacture refractory materials. Adding it to the electroplating solution can increase the conductivity. It is also a catalyst for the color of food sauce, a nitrogen source for cultivating yeast in the production of fresh yeast, a dyeing assistant for acid dyes, and a deashing agent for leather.

(3)Food additives: beer brewing, chemical reagent and battery production, etc.
Rare earth application: Rare earth mining uses ammonium sulfate as raw material. Through ion exchange, the rare earth elements in the ore soil are exchanged out. Then, the leach is collected, impurities are removed, precipitated, pressed and calcined to obtain rare earth raw ore. About 5 tons of ammonium sulfate are needed for every 1 ton of rare earth raw ore mined and produced.

(4)Biological uses: It is mainly used in protein purification processes. As ammonium sulfate is an inert substance, it is not easy to react with other bioactive substances. During the purification process, it can protect the protein activity to the greatest extent. In addition, ammonium sulfate has excellent solubility and can form a high-salt environment, which prepares for protein precipitation and subsequent high-salt purification. The solubility of ammonium sulfate at 0ºC is significantly different from that at room temperature of 25ºC. The following are the molar concentrations of ammonium sulfate at different saturations at the two temperatures.
